Mark Boucher world's leading wicket keeper ia out of team now. Do you think Devilliers is better choice to repalce Boucher or Mark should be in South African team?

Tsolekile and de Villiers are both prodigious talents, but it's not their time yet. Boucher should get his place back sooner than later.
That said, who's going to take over from him now? Both these young keepers look excellent, de Villiers the better bat, but Tsolekile the more athletic gloveman. This could be a typical Aussie headache: which player is too good to leave out? |

Watched a fair bit of the first test of the series and Tsolekile looked quality with the gloves on, can't really comment on De Villiers

Gilly was alittle off yesterday as Warnie had 3 chances dropped by the "Magnicicent One". After belting a quick century, I guess his mind was still with the bat! You are allowed to have a "slightly" off day..........now and again! |

Don't worry, he's from Pakistan. He forgot that Australia even existed. Memory loss from the shock.

Boucher on his day is in with a shot as being the world's leading keeper. Gilchrist doesn't count as he's on a different planet altogether, can't put anybody close to that man. One of the biggest reasons why this Aussie side are so formidable along with Warne and McGrath of course. Gilchrist could get into the test side batting 3 or 4 but they have him coming in at 7 AND he keeps wicket to give them even more options. He should be banned from playing test cricket as it's not fair to everybody else (IMG:http://abcofcricket.com/forum/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

If my memory serves me correctly, Boucher still holds the record for the quickest wicket keeper to 50 and 100 wickets. Gilly is a great bat, and a damned good wk, but if there was a choice on keeping alone, I don't rate him as "on another planet". You have better keepers in Aus.
On deVilliers vs Tsolekile - DeVilliers has a better records this season with both bat and gloves. Both Boucher and de Villiers are actually batters turned keepers, and I think that both have the ability to make the side on batting alone. Tsolikile is nowhere in the class of these two with the bat, but he's up there with the gloves (in spite of the number of dropped catches in the tests he has played in.) |
